When I stayed in the Napa/Sonoma area recently, we rented a three-bedroom home with a huge yard and a well-kept hot tub, which were wonderful, but also had to do major cleaning on the last day, and also respect the neighbors' rules (no limos waiting out front for more than five minutes, or no noise in the yard past 9 pm, for instance). It depends on what you're seeking in a getaway. Not sure what John personally prefers, but I think it's safe to say that both a rental and a hotel are great options... --Cheri Hi there,

I can’t answer for John, but I can put in my two cents and say both renting a home and staying in a hotel are equally fine experiences; as he mentioned above, you can’t expect certain luxuries (ie, a staff to wait on or assist you) when renting a house.

When I stayed in the Napa/Sonoma area recently, we rented a three-bedroom home with a huge yard and a well-kept hot tub, which were wonderful, but also had to do major cleaning on the last day, and also respect the neighbors’ rules (no limos waiting out front for more than five minutes, or no noise in the yard past 9 pm, for instance). It depends on what you’re seeking in a getaway. Not sure what John personally prefers, but I think it’s safe to say that both a rental and a hotel are great options…
