Hi Shi Wei,

Sorry for my delay. I was in Australia. Ask the driver for the closest stop to the Marin Headlands Visitors Center on Bunker Rd. Check out the trail map link at the end of the second paragraph in the above text. Enjoy your hike!

Best,
John

Hi John

Wondering if you could advise on taking public transportation to hike #2 above. Where should we get off on bus 76?

Great website!

Thanks

Hi Cathy,

Funny you should ask this. Shy of heading to the foothills of the Sierra (which I think have the best wildflower displays this time of year), your best bet is the Headlands. Look at Hike #1, above: Head to the Coastal Trail; where it tops out above the ocean, vast fields of California poppies are exploding orange right now---April is the best time for poppies at Tennessee Valley. Alas, the dogs have to be on-leash, but if they're well-behaved and sit on command, maybe you can unleash them for the shoot. But you will have to keep them on the trail.

Aside from this, I'm not too sure. There's always Wine Country, but that can be iffy because there's so much private property. Check out the Headlands. Hope this helps. I wanna see a copy of the final proof!

All best,
John

Thanks for the info, especially re hikes that allow dogs! I am looking for a spot where we can do a photo shoot of my 3 dogs within the next month or so; I live in Mill Valley but we could consider Marin, Sonoma, or SF.

Wildflowers in the background would be a plus, and we may be lugging some photography equipment so a less-strenuous hike is preferred. On-leash is OK, but off-leash would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you can share, particularly regarding location and timing (of wildflowers blooming).
